Job summary

JAARS in Waxhaw, NC seeks a compassionate Teacher for Nursery Age (0-2) to provide a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for a small class. The role is part-time (FTE 0.300) and focuses on guiding early social, physical, and spiritual growth within a church-based setting.

Responsibilities include planning engaging activities, supervising assistants, maintaining a clean, safe classroom, and documenting each child's progress while partnering with families in line with JAARS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to relate well with infants and toddlers.
• Background check, child safety interview, and references required.

Responsibilities

• Plan development activities across social, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual domains.
• Create a safe, engaging learning environment using available resources.
• Supervise and guide assistant teachers and maintain staff-to-child ratios.
• Document each child’s needs, development, strengths, and interests.
• Assist children with daily activities (handwashing, eating, restroom use).
