Job summary

SAR Academy is hiring a full-time Infant Toddler Assistant Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year in our Riverdale, NY Infant Toddler Center. You will support infants and toddlers with developmentally appropriate activities in a warm, play-based setting designed to nurture curiosity and self-esteem.

Ideal candidates are nurturing, reflective, and collaborative, capable of supporting social, emotional, linguistic, cognitive, and physical development while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (or CDA) is required or preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is welcomed.
• Familiarity with Jewish culture and traditions is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Support the developmental and educational growth of infants and toddlers through age-appropriate, responsive care while adhering to health and safety standards.
• Respond attentively to each child's individual needs.
• Foster a nurturing, calm, and patient environment grounded in warmth and respect.
• Promote positive behavior and healthy social interactions among children.
• Build secure, trusting relationships with each child through consistency and connection.
• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily activities, including diapering, feeding, napping routines, and maintaining a clean classroom.
