Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking a Center Support Assistant to provide a warm, nurturing environment for children birth to age 5. You will support in classrooms, implement activities, and uphold safety and health standards as part of a dedicated team.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, maintaining records, and fostering parent and staff communication. A High School Diploma with 45-hour DCF training is preferred to qualify for this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child growth and development and developmentally appropriate practices for birth to 5 years.
• Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
• Ability to exercise control and maintain appropriate classroom discipline.
• Ability to implement the approved curriculum.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse staff and families.
• Awareness of safety and abuse-reporting procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the classroom as needed.
• Familiarize self with the day’s planned activities.
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities for each child.
• Provide warm, nurturing environment using positive guidance.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain compliance with policies and accreditation standards.
• Follow medical and dental emergency procedures and medication handling.
• Maintain record keeping and portfolios when staff are absent.
