Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Nursing Veterinary Assistant to support our Emergency and Specialty team in Cincinnati. This role provides constant patient supervision, assists with phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, recovery, and client education.

Schedule: Monday, Friday, every other weekend 7pm-7:30am. You will record rounds, collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans, and educate clients on medications and home care for hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Proficient in drug calculations.
• Flexible hours and able to work overtime when needed.
• Strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
