Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced clinical team. This role requires prior veterinary experience, with a focus on managing critical situations effectively.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required; previous emergency experience desired.
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment and treatment.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples.
