Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Unit Tech/Monitor Tech to support the nursing unit with clerical and organizational tasks. You will work under the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, ensuring timely communication with patients, visitors, and staff, and maintaining orderly supply and charting processes.

Responsibilities include accurate data gathering, proper documentation, and active participation in the unit PI plan and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must maintain current BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs clerical activities for the nursing unit under the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse.
• Communicates with patients, visitors, and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
• Performs unit tasks effectively and timely.
• Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned.
• Orders supplies and maintains nurses' station in an orderly, neat manner.
• Documents legibly according to hospital policy.
• Utilizes equipment (printer, computer, telephone, fax, etc.).
• Participates in implementation of PI plan.
• Competency in use of technology and computers for charting and related functions.
• Assists with ordering and organization of supplies.
• Participates in implementing the unit PI plan and National Patient Safety Goals.
