Carilion Clinic's 7M Medical Specialty Unit in Roanoke, VA seeks a Nursing Unit Director to provide 24-hour leadership for nursing operations, staff development, and patient care delivery on a specialized 12-bed unit serving adults with complex medical and behavioral health needs.

The role drives budgets, performance metrics, patient experience, and staff retention while collaborating with physicians, case managers, and therapy teams to ensure safe, high-quality care and smooth unit operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of professional nursing school.
• BSN required for Carilion Clinic positions due to Magnet designation.
• For outlying community hospitals, BSN is preferred or an ADN with related master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour leadership for nursing unit operations and patient care delivery.
• Develop and monitor unit budgets, staffing, and supply management.
• Drive quality, patient experience, employee engagement, and throughput metrics.
• Foster professional growth and mentoring of Assistant Nurse Managers and staff.
