Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Nursing Secretary NT I Plus 3 to support Registered Nurses by observing and documenting patient conditions and providing patient assistance under supervision.

The role includes helping with daily living activities, evaluating patient well‑being, and coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges in line with the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of related experience required.
• Nurse Aide Certification as required by NC DHHR.
• BLS CPR certification required by American Red Cross or AHA.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with daily living tasks and mobility to aid recovery and plan of care.
• Assesses nutrition, hydration, and elimination to anticipate patient needs and allocate resources.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients to appropriate locations per care plan.
• Assists with elimination needs, ostomy care, enemas, and catheter care for patient comfort.
• Maintains unit inventories to ensure a clean, safe environment in line with safety goals.
• Checks fall-risk patients for armbands, socks, and signage to ensure safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Nursing Secretary NT I Plus 3 supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed.

Essential Job Function

• Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility in order to support the recovery and plan of care.
• Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
• Assists with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients.
• Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Checks that fall risk patients have the appropriate armbands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Required: 1 year of related experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
