Summary

Supervises nursing home staff and activities, including resident care and record-keeping. Manages nursing staff assigned to shifts, allocates resources, and assigns residents based on condition and staff skill level.

Job Description

1. Monitors cleanliness and readiness of resident care areas and facilities.
2. Fills in for clinical support staff as needed and may serve as a technical trainer or troubleshooter.
3. Ensures staff follow the nursing process to provide individualized care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
4. Manages personal care, medication administration, care planning, scheduling, and coordination with clients, families, and external agencies.
5. Supports HR processes, staff training, and orientation.
6. Maintains knowledge of clinical practices, safety, and quality improvement policies.
7. Functions within nursing practice standards and adheres to professional ethical codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; preferred from accredited programs (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
• Leadership consideration for those without a degree, with a plan for degree completion within five years, especially in Rural Health Network and GSS locations.
• Unencumbered RN license in the practicing state; multistate licensure if applicable.
• Current BLS certification; additional certifications as required by specialty.
• Knowledge of nursing practice acts, care standards, and management techniques. Previous leadership experience preferred.
