Job summary

SCO Family of Services on Long Island seeks a Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing services across ICF and IRA residences, ensuring timely medical care and regulatory compliance under OPWDD and NYS laws. The role requires RN licensure in NY, supervisory experience, and strong collaboration with the program team.

You will supervise nursing staff, develop clinical procedures, and maintain documentation per state and federal standards, while coordinating with medical professionals and committees

Qualifications

• NYS-licensed RN required; BSN (MSN preferred).
• Minimum 5 years residential OPWDD program experience; knowledge of 624 and 683 regulations.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
• Ability to respond to emergencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate; experience with Electronic Health Records.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and professional supervision of nursing staff in assigned residences (ICF and IRA locations).
• Develop nursing procedures reflecting current clinical practice and facility philosophy of care.
• Ensure provision of nursing and nursing-related services to promote well-being.
• Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff.
• Monitor practice for effective implementation.
• Establish quality criteria and ensure regulatory compliance (OPWDD/DOH).
• Implement infection control and safety protocols; universal precautions for blood borne pathogens; PPE usage; hazardous materials handling.
• Coordinate care with medical staff and interdisciplinary team; coordinate on-site visits and assessments.
• Ensure medical records are up-to-date and compliant; supervise scheduling and payroll.
• Oversee AMAP staff training/certification; ensure SCIP-R training and certification.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team; act as liaison to vendors and external providers.
