Job summary

MJHS in Brooklyn, NY seeks an experienced Nursing Director to oversee clinical care and emergency responses across our long-term care unit. You will supervise shifts, monitor productivity, participate in annual budget planning, and ensure compliance with NYSDOH policies.

You will interview and select qualified staff, manage performance, and provide orientation and ongoing development. Leadership in a skilled nursing facility is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS RN license.
• 2+ years of long-term care leadership in a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience supervising nursing staff across shifts and departments.
• Budgeting/financial oversight experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage clinical care and emergency responses.
• Provide supervision during a shift to all Nursing Staff to assure quality of care.
• Monitor productivity and participate in annual budget preparation.
• Evaluate new admissions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensure control of medication according to policy and procedure.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and resources to support departmental needs.
• Interview and participate in selection of qualified staff.
• Review and perform staff allocations for nursing personnel on units.
• Manage performance of direct and indirect reports.
• Participate in new hire orientation, coaching, training and ongoing development.
• Communicate resident clinical events or changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Respond to patient/resident family concerns or complaints.
• Document investigations and gather necessary documentation for NYS DOH.

• Oversee and manage clinical care and emergency responses
• Provide supervision during a specific shift to all Nursing Staff to assure quality of care

• Ensure for the control of medication as per policy and procedure
• Ensure appropriate staffing and resources to support departmental needs
• Interview and participate in the selection process for qualified staff
