Job summary

Palmetto General Hospital seeks an experienced nurse leader to manage hospital operations during off hours, weekends, and holidays. You will oversee patient care and staffing across departments during shifts, ensuring adherence to policies and standards.

Candidate must have a nursing degree with at least five years in acute care, preferably ER/ICU, and strong English communication. Flexible hours may be required by the Chief Nursing Officer.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved nursing program per NCSBN.
• Five years progressive nursing experience in acute care.
• ER/ICU nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English.
• Visual and hearing senses adequate for patient assessment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs administrative leadership and management of the hospital during off hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Oversees patient care and staffing of all departments during assigned shifts.
• Ensures hospital objectives and policies are followed per departmental standards.
• Interacts with administrative personnel from other hospitals and regulatory agencies.
• Flexible hours as needed by Chief Nursing Officer.
