Job summary

William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, seeks a Student Success Coordinator to manage the Nursing Enrichment and Tutoring Center (NET) and coordinate tutoring for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

You will analyze NCLEX pass rates and support program alignment, while collaborating with COSH and department committees to improve student outcomes. Salary is competitive with benefits and a four-day summer workweek.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required; Master’s in Nursing Education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years mentoring/tutoring/advising students.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with audiovisual equipment.
  • Experience with Nursing Simulation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; strong presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Enrichment and Tutoring (NET) Center.
  • Coordinates scheduling of tutors and mentors.
  • Works with coordinators to identify at-risk students and provide tutoring and support.

Together, we empower our students through intentional, holistic support within flexible, innovative, and inclusive settings—preparing graduates to thrive professionally and personally, and to lead with a commitment to progress in New Jersey and beyond.JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Associate Dean, School of Nursing, the Student Success Coordinator manages the Nursing Enrichment and Tutoring Center (NET), coordinates scheduling of tutors and mentors, facilitates management of undergraduate and graduate cohorts, identification and management of academically at-risk students.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESManages the day to day operations of the Nursing Enrichment and Tutoring (NET) CenterWorks closely with the undergraduate and graduate level coordinators to ensure at-risk students are identified and receive ongoing tutoring and supportWorks closely with the Skills/Sim lab coordinator to ensure students have opportunity to practice necessary skills in the NETManages any supplemental instructional offerings in conjunction with the COSH requirementsIn conjunction with the Associate Dean, evaluates NCLEX pass rates as well as Certificate pass rates to ensure curricular alignment and program offerings as neededServes on the Curriculum Committee as well as the Academic Standards Committee to ensure alignment of services at the undergraduate and graduate levelsHires, orients, trains, and supervises nursing student tutors and mentors as appropriateDevelops and recommends an appropriate budget for all activities supervisedGathers and reviews data on student response to NET activities each semester and initiates new programs as indicatedAssesses undergraduate and graduate retention issues and plans interventions accordinglyServes as a resource to the Student Nurses AssociationImplements special projects as requested by the Associate Dean and the Chairperson i.e. assist with the arrangements for the Nursing Community Advisory Board (CAB)Directs academic support and referrals for undergraduate and graduate nursing studentsProvides or arranges for workshops to enhance student success for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral nursing students Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the positionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Nursing required/Master’s degree in Nursing Education preferredMinimum 2 years experience in mentoring/tutoring/advising studentsKnowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with audiovisual equipmentExperience with Nursing SimulationExcellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skillsFlexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as neededThis description indicates the general nature and level of work performed by employees in the above job.
