Job summary

Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Nursing Student- Med Surg Tech Advanced (MST-A) to support the transition to practice under RN supervision. You will perform patient care, respiratory functions and unit duties per policy and procedures.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited RN program, completion of Nursing Fundamentals and Pharmacology courses, a High School diploma or equivalent, and good academic standing. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and active enrollment in an RN program.
• Maintain good academic standing during the program.
• Complete Nursing Fundamentals course.
• Complete Pharmacology course.
• Continued enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
• Validation of nursing skills per duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care, respiratory functions, and unit tasks under RN supervision.
• Anticipate patient needs and collect reports; document patient data.
• Transcribe orders and keep the RN informed of pertinent changes.
• May perform other skills as outlined in guidelines and procedures.
