Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and enrollment in nursing school.
• Continued enrollment in an accredited RN program.
• Completion of a Nursing Fundamentals course.
• Validation of nursing skills as outlined in the duties & responsibilities section.
• Good academic standing with the nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Collects, reports and documents patient data accurately in a timely fashion according to nursing policy.
• Performs any assigned ancillary testing including but not limited to blood draws and blood sugars.
• Completes all assigned tasks and communicates to the RN the patient responses to care provided in an accurately and timely manner.
• Assist with unit orientation and continuing education of students and employees as appropriate.
• Makes hourly patient rounds in conjunction with the nurse for fluids and toileting and keeps area clean, neat and maintains items within reach.
