Job summary

Lake-Sumter State College is seeking an entry-level Student Assistant for the Nursing program. This part-time role supports nursing students and assists faculty with instructional activities, learning resources, technology, and classroom operations.

The position requires 20-25 hours per week with a flexible schedule that does not conflict with class times. Duties include tutoring, supporting online learning, test proctoring, and maintaining a welcoming learning space.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the 2nd through 4th semester of the Nursing program.
• Recommendation from the Nursing Program Director.
• Currently enrolled at Lake-Sumter State College with a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to nursing students in designated subject areas through online, face-to-face, and group settings.
• Continually develop and maintain knowledge of nursing subject areas and tutoring/support skills.
• Assist students with the course's online learning system and related instructional technology.
• Assist instructors with instructional activities, including test proctoring.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
• Follow College and departmental procedures and policies.
• Attend required training sessions and complete a professional development plan.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
