Job summary

Forest View Hospital, a part of Universal Health Services, offers a Nursing Student Apprentice Program (NAP) to provide hands-on patient care exposure in a structured behavioral health setting. The program is designed to transition qualified candidates into RN roles after licensure through mentorship and guided clinical development.

Apprentices will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in patient care activities, observation, and documentation while pursuing nursing program

Qualifications

• Must be a Junior or Senior in a nursing program (or equivalent clinical phase).
• Minimum GPA of 3.25 required and must remain in good academic standing.
• Must be in good standing with their nursing program.
• Must meet all pre-employment and onboarding requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals.
• Interact with patients and communicate observations to nursing staff.
• Document clinical information in the patient’s medical record.
• Provide a safe, therapeutic and structured environment for patients.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Record vitals and progress notes in patient records.
• Facilitate patient education and rehabilitation groups.
• Support RN and other team members as required.
