Job summary

Aurora University seeks talented adjunct nursing simulation faculty to work with the Center in day-to-day NSSC operations, facilitating high-quality simulation experiences that promote critical thinking and clinical judgment. You will guide student learning, provide debriefing feedback, and participate in lab setup and safety procedures.

The role requires an Illinois RN license and a Master’s degree in Nursing, with CHSE preferred.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Illinois RN license (required).
• Master’s degree in Nursing (required).
• CHSE or equivalent certification (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a fast-paced simulation education environment (required).
• Experience with computer software and networked systems used in teaching in a clinical lab.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry lab equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students using simulation scenarios, including pre- and post-simulation.
• Partners with nursing faculty in learning assessment and debriefing sessions.
• Assists with preparation, break down, and cleanup of NSSC sessions.
• Educates staff, faculty, and students on NSSC equipment and supplies.
• Manages simulation technology during sessions as technician.
• Records simulation exercises and provides AV files for education.
• Ensures a safe learning environment and lab safety rules.
• Collaborates with the Director on design, safety, and IT needs.
• Evaluates resources and data for the program evaluation plan (PEP).
• Leads tours of the center to visitors.
• Maintains professional competence related to simulations.
