Job summary

Shelby Oaks Post Acute in Memphis, Tennessee seeks an Assistant to the Director of Nursing to support planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department, ensuring the highest quality of care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

This role involves assisting in staffing, monitoring medication passes, participating in QA programs, and updating policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN or LVN license.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing in a long-term care setting.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum 6 months experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing.
• Working knowledge of EMR and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, implement, and direct nursing services per policy.
• Conduct rounds to ensure quality care and report findings to the Director.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating policies and procedures.
• Assist in determining staffing needs for the nursing service department.
• Monitor medication passes and report any medication errors to the Director.
