Job summary

The DNS will oversee nursing services, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. The position emphasizes staff development, operational optimization, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN license valid and unrestricted in CT.
• BSN preferred; MSN or higher considered an asset.
• Minimum of 2+ years clinical nursing with progressive leadership experience.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification as required by facility policy.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state regulations governing SNFs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services across the facility.
• Direct, supervise, and support nursing staff including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
• Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures per clinical standards and regulations.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels and appropriate skill mix to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee care planning, resident assessments, and coordination of services to optimize outcomes.
