Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a registered nurse to assess, prepare, and provide patient care in collaboration with physicians. The role includes teaching staff, monitoring outcomes, and participating in performance improvements.

Responsibilities include planning and documenting care, communicating with physicians, educating patients and families, coordinating with the care team, and supporting program administration and marketing efforts as needed.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• 1-3 year(s) of experience in field of specialty.
• Program area certification and/or CEU may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, develops, and administers plan of care, completes appropriate documentation and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. (35%)
• Communicates with attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the RN's knowledge base or scope of practice. (20%)
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on individual needs. (20%)
• Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, community health services and interdisciplinary team. (15%)
• Coordinates administrative functions for the Program, which may include staffing coverage and/or participating in marketing activities. (5%)
• Participates in the development and implementation of departmental and hospital performance improvement activities. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
