Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a nursing leader to serve on the nursing management team, providing clinical and administrative direction on assigned shifts. The role acts as an administrative and clinical resource in the absence of the department head and reports to the Director of Nursing Resources.

The position emphasizes adherence to nursing practice acts, FH policies, and the FH mission. It includes direct patient care in validated clinical areas and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the State of Maryland.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required. Masters degree preferred.
• Five years of clinical experience required.
• Current CPR certification. ACLS preferred/to be achieved within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction to all hospital departments in accordance with organizational and departmental policies and objectives.
• Collects information to assess patient care needs and coordinates actions to provide appropriate staffing.
• Counsels employees and communicates interaction to appropriate Director/Manager.
• Recommends and conducts disciplinary action as needed in accordance with personnel guidelines.
• Assumes role of patient advocate respecting guidelines found in the Frederick Health Statement of Patient Rights and Responsibilities.
• Promotes professional delivery of health care. Facilitates cooperative efforts of all hospital departments to improve hospital systems.
