Position Summary

Department: Orlando Health Medical Group - Outpatient Preadmission Testing

Status: Full-Time | 40 hours per week

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Title: Nurse Operations Manager

Provides leadership & operational oversight for outpatient nursing departments. Accountable for achieving department and organizational goals in collaboration with hospital and medical staff leadership.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Evaluate environment and recommend improvements for quality, patient flow, safety, and compliance with standards (OSHA, JCAHO), infection control, and risk management.
  • Plan, lead, organize, direct, and evaluate patient care delivery to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Promote a safe, high-reliability environment that fosters safety and quality outcomes.
  • Support diversity and participate in policy development and decision-making.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to meet performance standards.
  • Lead change management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective nursing models reflecting patient and family needs.
  • Participate in the adoption of new technologies, procedures, and services.
  • Recruit, develop, retain, and evaluate top talent.
  • Manage department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and achievement of financial goals.
  • Ensure evidence-based, quality clinical nursing practices aligned with standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership, initiative, and effective communication.
  • Ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Act as liaison between staff and administration.
  • Maintain professional accountability and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Support team involvement in professional activities.
  • Align team actions with Orlando Health’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage HR functions including hiring, coaching, performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
Education/Training
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s (MSN, DNP) or additional business/health-related graduate degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification
  • Current RN license in Florida or NLC.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NALS, TNCC, AONL leadership) may be required based on patient population.
Experience
  • At least 2 years as a registered nurse and 1 year in leadership roles.
