Qualifications

Position Summary

Department: Orlando Health Medical Group - Outpatient Preadmission Testing

Status: Full-Time | 40 hours per week

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Title: Nurse Operations Manager

Address of Practice: 52 W Underwood St (ORMC) Orlando FL 328069

Provides leadership & operational oversight for outpatient nursing departments. Accountable for achieving department and organizational goals in collaboration with hospital and medical staff leadership.

About Orlando Health Medical Group (OHMG): A comprehensive physician group serving the southeastern US, with over 200 practices and 1,200 physicians across numerous specialties, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, surgery, pediatrics, women’s health, and more. Part of Orlando Health system, which includes 24 hospitals, ERs, specialty institutes, urgent care centers, and outpatient facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate environment and recommend improvements for quality service, patient flow, safety, and compliance with standards (OSHA, JCAHO, infection control, risk management).
  • Plan, lead, organize, and evaluate patient care delivery to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Create a safe, high-reliability environment promoting safety and quality outcomes.
  • Promote diversity and participate in policy formulation and decision-making.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies, measuring performance against standards.
  • Lead change management initiatives and analyze, develop, and maintain effective nursing models.
  • Participate in planning and implementing new technologies and procedures.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent; manage team performance and productivity.
  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure operational and financial benchmarks are met.
  • Ensure evidence-based, high-quality clinical nursing practices are followed.
  • Demonstrate leadership, initiative, and effective communication skills; promote exceptional customer experience.
  • Serve as liaison between staff and administration; maintain professional accountability and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Support team involvement in organizational activities and uphold Orlando Health’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage HR functions including hiring, coaching, performance reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, ADA, FMLA, and local standards.

Qualifications:

Education/Training: BSN required; MSN, DNP, or additional business/health-related graduate degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Florida or NLC, BLS certification, and possibly ACLS, PALS, NALS, TNCC, or nurse leadership certification within 2 years.

Experience: 2 years RN experience and 1 year leadership experience.
