Oversees operations and patient care in the absence of leadership.
Leads supervisors and staff toward facility objectives.
Guides departments to achieve hospital goals and high-quality care.

Ensures staffing and resources meet patient care needs.
Promotes evidence-based, ethical practice and teamwork.
Provides direction on clinical and operational concerns when leadership is absent.
Input into performance reviews and staff actions as needed.
Models professional standards across clinical, educational, and leadership domains.
Monitors resources and equipment in the absence of leadership.
Assesses activity to ensure equitable staffing and access.
Ensures adherence to care delivery models and standards.
Stays current on regulatory requirements and compliance.
Maintains knowledge of scope of practice and legislation.
Identifies opportunities for operational change via evidence-based strategies.
Performs related duties as required.
