Job summary

Bayleylife is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to organize and administer the Nursing Department under the Director of Nursing. The ADON collaborates with front-line supervisors to ensure quality patient care, orient and evaluate new staff, and promote effective communication across departments.

The role includes staffing, policy development, and ensuring regulatory compliance with federal and state standards. Experience in long-term care and a valid Ohio RN license are required.

Qualifications

• RN License in the State of Ohio.
• BSN/Graduate of Accredited School or Nursing.
• Knowledge of Federal Regulations, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Five years of staff nursing, with three years in a supervisory capacity.
• Geriatric experience in long-term care required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and administer Nursing Services.
• Direct and supervise professional and non-professional nursing staff.
• Delegate authority commensurate with responsibility.
• Monitor and coordinate Nursing Service functions for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and care policies.
• Foster inter/intra-departmental communication and collaboration.
• Oversee staff scheduling to meet budgeted labor hours.
• Assist in maintaining staff morale and staff development.
• Participate in hiring, discipline, development, and evaluation of personnel.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and state/federal guidelines.
• Provide orientation and evaluation of new employees (90-day period).
• Support the Director of Nursing in their absence.
• Assist in resident/caregiver counseling as needed.
• Attend mandatory in-services and external seminars.
• Engage with local LTC organizations for quality improvement.
• Assess village residents and health care residents prior to admission.
