Job summary

Windsor Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Windsor, NC, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in planning, coordinating, and operating the Nursing Department to ensure high-quality resident care 24/7.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, policy development, regulatory compliance, and ongoing staff training. Strong communication with Residents and families, a valid RN license, and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Science, Nursing or related field.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State RN license.
• CPR certification.
• 2 years RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the D.O.N with planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
• Ensures the Nursing Department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop, implement and update department policy and procedures when necessary or as directed.
• Assists with staffing to ensure Resident needs and regulatory requirements are met at all times.
• Participates in Federal, State and Local agency annual surveys.
• Reviews deficiencies noted by government agencies during inspections and assists with corrective actions.
• Performs annual performance reviews and provides guidance to staff.
• Provides counseling and disciplinary action as needed.
• Ensures infection control and safety practices are maintained.
• Maintains Residents' comfort, privacy and dignity; responds to call lights promptly.
• Assists with new admissions and transfers between rooms.
• Communicates effectively with Residents, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services.
