Job summary

Job Title: NICU
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3
Term: 9-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $75 - $81/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a NICU for a temporary assignment in Providence, Rhode Island. These positions are 9-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a NICU:

• Provide registered nurse (RN) patient care services in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Work weeknights and weekends, 48 hours per week, four 12-hour shifts; flex position with shifts predominantly nights
• Maintain active RN license (or compact license, if applicable)
• Maintain current BLS certification (AHA)
• Maintain current NRP certification
• Obtain STABLE certification (preferred)
• Demonstrate minimum 1–2 years of recent NICU experience (Level II/III)
• Apply vent/high-acuity neonate experience in clinical practice (preferred)
• Utilize Epic (EMR) system for clinical documentation
• Work required holidays including Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day
• Maintain flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine compliance (no exemptions for COVID-19)
• Complete required onboarding credentials including skills checklist, specialty competency exam, basic EKG exam, pharmacology exam, and core competencies
• Submit CNE Profile, 2 professional references, and work attestation prior to start
• Complete required health history documentation including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA), and fit test
• Complete RI fingerprinting as required for RN licensure
• Undergo criminal background check and employment verification
• Complete CNE First Look orientation packet and non-employee confidentiality agreement
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and compliance requirements throughout the assignment
