Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the New Brunswick campus. This role partners with the Director of Patient Care to oversee high‑quality, patient‑centered nursing services within Oncology Unit MCC-10, managing daily operations and long‑term strategic goals.

The position requires BSN, 3–5 years of leadership experience, oncology nursing background, and chemotherapy certification.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 3–5 years leadership/charge/preceptor experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Oncology nurse experience required.
• Chemotherapy certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to fulfill unit/organization goals.
• Effectively communicate with staff, manage resources and staff/services.
• Assist the Director with daily operations of the unit and delegated responsibilities.
• Will be assigned 50 percent of patient care responsibilities.
• Collaboratively prepare and maintain staff schedule and payroll.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive staff accountability.
