Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND, is seeking a 2027 Nursing Intern for a 240-hour internship to support high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of 5th semester of accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program by May 2027.
• Commitment to complete 240 internship hours.
• Working knowledge of clinical skills in patient care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (or must be obtained within the orientation period).
• Good communication skills necessary for constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff.
• Maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to mission, values and standards to provide compassionate, holistic patient care.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to ND State Board of Nursing standards and nurse practice act.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement a care plan focused on optimal outcomes.
• Meet educational needs of patients and families using current professional literature.
• Support delegation of nursing care based on staff qualifications and patient needs.
• Follow infection-control policies and medication procedures.
