Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is seeking aClinical Nurse Supervisor to oversee nursing and support staff across inpatient, emergency, and skilled nursing units.

You will mentor staff, implement clinical initiatives, and uphold ethical standards to ensure safe, compassionate patient care. You will direct staffing allocations, monitor quality initiatives, and collaborate across disciplines while managing resources and budgets in a 25-bed critical access setting with a Level V Emergency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Current RN license in North Dakota (compact state).
• BLS certification required upon hire; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required upon hire; reference credentialing bodies.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nurse experience; knowledge of inpatient nursing, administration, laws/regulations, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

As our Clinical Nurse Supervisor, you will help frontline caregivers and patients so they can achieve the highest degree of quality care within an environment that supports professional growth and clinical excellence. Every day you will oversee nursing and support staff across inpatient, emergency, and skilled nursing units, serving as the critical link between caregivers and hospital leadership. You will be expected to mentor staff, implement clinical initiatives, and role‑model ethical and moral principles to ensure every patient interaction is safe and compassionate. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, a deep understanding of evidence‑based clinical practices, and the ability to advocate for both the needs of the patient and the nursing team.

• Personnel Leadership: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, training, and performance management, while providing direct functional and technical guidance to team members
• Strategic Staffing: Direct staffing allocations to meet patient and unit demands across multiple departments, ensuring consistent coverage through collaborative resource planning
• Performance & Quality Oversight: Drive clinical excellence by monitoring patient engagement, safety, and quality initiatives, while ensuring all practices align with evidence‑based standards
• Operational Standardization: Coordinate operating systems, service protocols, and communication methods across multiple areas to ensure consistency and compliance with system‑wide policies
• Resource & Budget Management: Manage departmental resources and capital/operational budgets to provide high‑quality services at a reasonable cost while hitting defined performance benchmarks
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Compliance: Partner with diverse healthcare disciplines to coordinate patient care and ensure strict adherence to Joint Commission, federal, and state regulatory requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Required. Current Registered Nurse License in North Dakota. North Dakota is a compact state
• BLS certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR/PRO, must say “Professional Level-with AED,” and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required upon hire
• 2 years of clinical nurse experience
• Must possess strong knowledge of inpatient nursing, nursing administration, applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good communication skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate person traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.

Pay Range

$36.78 - $52.85 /hour
