Job summary

Madera Community College Center in California is seeking an experienced Registered Nursing Instructor to join its part-time faculty pool for the LVN to RN program. The position supports evening and weekend instruction on campus or off-site as needed.

The instructor will prepare and teach theory, skills lab, and clinical experiences; evaluate student performance; utilize instructional technologies; and participate in relevant meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree or higher with two years of related experience.
• Alternatively an associate degree with six years of related experience.
• A valid California Community College Credential or equivalency.
• (Note: Equivalency petition if transcripts do not match.)

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in the LVN to RN nursing program in various settings, including evenings/weekends on campus or off-campus as needed.
• Prepare for and teach courses in the registered nursing program, including theory, skills lab, hospital and clinical experiences.
• Objectively evaluate student performance in theory, skills lab and clinical courses.
• Communicate effectively with students, patients, families, health care providers and faculty.
• Develop/utilize technologies for classroom presentations and participate in professional meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues to schedule classes and participate in student recruiting activities.
• Assess student learning outcomes to improve learning and maintain professional standards.
