Job summary

State Center Community College District is seeking a part-time Registered Nursing Instructor for the Madera Community College Center. The instructor will teach LVN-to-RN nursing courses in various settings, including evenings or weekends, on campus or off-site as needed.

Responsibilities include preparing and teaching courses, evaluating student performance, and collaborating with colleagues to schedule classes while supporting student recruitment and outcomes assessment.

Qualifications

• California license as a registered nurse (RN) and required master’s/bachelor’s degrees as specified.
• At least one year of continuous, full-time direct patient care as an RN in the past five years.
• Teaching experience in registered nursing or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and teach courses in the registered nursing program, including theory, skills lab, and clinical experiences.
• Objectively evaluate student performance in theory, skills lab, and clinical courses.
• Communicate effectively with students, patients, families, and staff.
• Utilize technologies for classroom presentations.
• Participate in professional meetings and faculty development.
• Coordinate scheduling with colleagues and participate in student recruitment.
• Assess learning outcomes to improve student learning.
• Maintain professional standards and ethics relevant to teaching nursing.
• Fulfill duties as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
