Position Overview

Title: Nursing Instructor

Salary: $69,017.37 - $92,489.89 annually

Job Type: Full-Time, Tenure-Track

Location: 5100 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin, CA

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate as a team member with nursing faculty and director under minimal administrative direction to develop, implement, and evaluate the District's nursing educational programs; instruct nursing courses and perform related work as required.
  • Participate in faculty meetings to plan, evaluate and develop all aspects of the nursing programs including curriculum, objectives, policies, and evaluation plans.
  • Prepare written curriculum revision proposals, self‑studies, and reports for State regulating agencies.
  • Develop course materials consistent with the program framework; review, select, and order textbooks and media.
  • Assist in updating nursing literature and evaluating new clinical facilities; coordinate clinical experiences with agencies.
  • Assume responsibility for instruction of theory classes, supervise students in clinical areas, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and maintain student records.
  • Maintain office hours, serve as a professional role model, advise students, and participate in graduation ceremonies.
  • Maintain currency in clinical expertise; promote faculty cohesion and maintain professional relationships with students, staff, and external agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's or higher degree in nursing, or Bachelor's in Nursing combined with a Master's in Health Education or Health Science, or equivalent.
  • Valid, active California license as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Valid California Class C or higher Driver’s License to travel among District sites.
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a RN, with at least one (1) year’s experience in direct patient care within the last five (5) years.
  • At least one (1) year’s teaching experience in nursing courses, or equivalent teaching experience.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $69,017.37 to $92,489.89 annually, with possible placement on the District's Faculty Salary Schedule based on experience and education. Benefits include health and welfare coverage, income protection, participation in the State Teachers Retirement System, and available leave provisions.
