Role Description

The Nursing Instructor is a full-time, on-site position located in the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. This role involves planning, delivering, and assessing nursing courses and clinical experiences in accordance with program outcomes and accreditation standards. The Nursing Instructor will develop and update course materials, lead classroom and laboratory instruction, supervise students in clinical settings, and provide constructive feedback on performance. Daily responsibilities include mentoring students, maintaining accurate records of attendance and grades, participating in curriculum and program improvement initiatives, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success and continuous quality enhancement.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Nursing and Nursing Education skills, with the ability to translate clinical experience into effective teaching.
• Candidates should possess Curriculum Development skills, including designing, revising, and aligning coursework with program and accreditation requirements.
• Candidates should possess Medicine and Critical Care Medicine knowledge to support instruction in core and specialized nursing topics.
• Relevant qualifications include an active, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license and a graduate degree in Nursing or a closely related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Additional beneficial skills include prior teaching or precepting experience, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, proficiency with educational technologies and learning management systems, and a commitment to inclusive, student-centered instruction.
