Job summary

Amerit Consulting is seeking a REMS Clinical Nurse Educator to provide patient counseling and education for FDA-mandated REMS medications. This role partners with pharmacy teams to ensure safe therapy and compliance with regulations.

Located in Cary, NC, the position offers hybrid work with initial onsite presence; schedule is M-F 9–6 EST, with occasional later shifts. RN licensure in NC or TX and 5+ years nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in NC or TX is required.
• Nursing degree (ASN/BSN or higher) is required.
• 5+ years of nursing experience; inpatient/outpatient preferred.
• Ability to obtain licensure in all required states within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and educate patients in REMS programs and read REMS statements verbatim when needed.
• Educate patients on therapy, side effects, adherence, and alternatives.
• Schedule medication deliveries and collect copays when applicable.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation per industry standards.
• Identify and report adverse events to manufacturers, FDA, and authorities.
• Verify specialty meds and liaise between providers and patients.
• Maintain patient demographics and medical history per HIPAA.
• Collaborate with pharmacy teams to ensure timely specialty-drug delivery.
• Follow contracted, accrediting, and drug-specific regulations.

JOB OVERVIEW:

REMS Clinical Nurse Educator (REMS Nursing Instructor)

Location: Cary, NC 27513

Work Type: Hybrid (onsite initially; work-from-home eligibility based on meeting performance metrics)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST; occasional 11:00 AM–8:00 PM EST shift

Pay Rate: $40.00/hour W2

Job Summary

The REMS Clinical Nurse Educator provides patient counseling and education for FDA-mandated Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) medications. This role supports medication adherence, patient safety, specialty-drug education, and coordination with pharmacy support teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel and educate patients enrolled in REMS medication programs; read required REMS statements verbatim when applicable.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapy, side effects, treatment alternatives, and medication adherence.
• Schedule medication refill deliveries and collect copays, when applicable.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to manufacturers, the FDA, and other appropriate authorities.
• Verify specialty medications and serve as a conduit between providers and patients to support ongoing therapy.
• Maintain patient demographics, medical history, and records in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Partner with pharmacy support teams to ensure timely, accurate specialty-drug delivery.
• Follow contracted, accrediting, and drug-specific regulations.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Compact State RN license or primary RN licensure in North Carolina or Texas.
• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in Nursing, or an accredited nursing diploma.
• Ability to obtain licensure in all required states and U.S. territories within three months of employment through Biologics-supported programming.
• Five or more years of nursing experience; at least one year of inpatient or outpatient care preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; motivational interviewing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with email, word processing, spreadsheets, and web-based systems.
• Ability to interpret professional journals, practice standards, technical procedures, and government regulations.
