Job summary

Albany Med Health System in Albany, NY, seeks a Clinical Informatics Nurse to design, implement, and optimize nursing informatics systems, aligning clinical practice with information technology. You will work under the Director of Informatics to integrate nursing knowledge with computer science and information science to support clinical practice and operations.

As a liaison among stakeholders, you will lead training, coordinate user groups, and ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
• 1–3 years of acute-care nursing or ambulatory/outpatient clinical experience required.
• 1–3 years of EHR implementation experience (super user, trainer, or implementation project team member) required.
• Strong organization, interpersonal communication and planning skills.
• RN – Registered Nurse license in NYS Upon Hire required.
• INS – Informatics Nurse Specialist within 1-1/2 Yrs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and supports systems to improve quality and patient care outcomes using information technology.
• Maintains current knowledge of applications, evolving technologies, and current patient safety literature to guide system modifications.
• Conducts workflow analysis to optimize technology use in patient care.
• Provides input on clinical functions suitable for computer application and ensures information systems align with nursing practice standards.
• Collaborates with end users on all computer system related initiatives.
• Co-Lead and coordinate user group forums to evaluate and improve system functionality.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership and IT staff on special projects.
• Develops training materials and programs for system enhancements and implementations.
• Identifies and develops super-users to provide training and support.
