Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Informatics Nurse to integrate nursing practice with clinical information systems. You will design, implement, train, and evaluate new and existing functionality within clinical and business information systems across departments.

Under the Director of Informatics, CNIO, CHIO, CMIO, and CNO, you will coordinate analytics, ensure regulatory standards, and liaise with vendors to meet patient care and safety goals through technology-enabled processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field; 1–3 years acute-care or ambulatory nursing experience required
• 1–3 years of Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation experience (super user, trainer, or implementation project team member) required
• Strong organization, interpersonal communication and planning skills (Medium); ability to present thoughts logically (High) and collaborate to solve problems (High)
• Experience with clinical informatics or nursing informatics preferred

Responsibilities

• Designs and supports systems and manages projects aimed at improving quality and patient care outcomes using information technology.
• Maintains current knowledge of computer applications, evolving technologies, and patient safety literature to guide system modifications.
• Conducts workflow analyses to optimize technology use in patient care.
• Collaborates with end users on computer system initiatives and coordinates user group forums.
• Coordinates design and promotion of information technologies that advance practice interoperability and outcomes.
• Supports training and develops super-users to assist others in the nursing division.
