Job summary

Iowa City VA Medical Center is seeking a Chief Nurse, Informatics Officer (CNIO) to lead nursing informatics, standardize best practices, and optimize VA systems. The CNIO will guide evidence-based innovation, mentor staff, manage projects, and advance technology and workflows to improve Veteran care outcomes.

Ideal candidates have a master’s degree in nursing or related field, advanced licensure, and experience in clinical informatics within large health systems.

Qualifications

• Must possess English language proficiency.
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by ACEN/CCNE or equivalent.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing license in US state/territory/DC.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing informatics across VA; standardize best practices and optimize systems.
• Mentor staff, manage informatics projects, and build collaborations.
• Advance technology and workflows to improve outcomes and strengthen high reliability practices.
• Support national strategies in informatics and data analytics.
