Job summary

Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. is seeking a skilled Nursing Home & Healthcare Defense Litigation Paralegal to join our Miami office.

We represent nursing homes, ALFs, home health agencies, and healthcare providers in medical negligence and related matters. The ideal candidate has FRP/CP designation, 5+ years circuit court experience in defense, and proficiency in MS Office, Westlaw, and case management systems.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) designation or NALA Certified Paralegal (CP) required.
• 5+ years of paralegal experience handling circuit court litigation matters.
• 5+ years of experience in insurance defense, healthcare defense, nursing home/ALF litigation, or medical malpractice defense.
• Experience managing nursing home, ALF, and/or home health agency cases, including review of medical records, incident reports, and discovery coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Westlaw.
• Familiarity with Litify, iManage, or other case/document management software (preferred).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume litigation files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation—from inception through trial.
• Pretrial investigation, discovery support, and trial preparation.
