Job summary

Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Massachusetts is hiring part-time weekend cooks. Work every other weekend from 6a to 2p at $20 an hour with weekly pay.

Responsibilities include preparing, cooking, and plating resident meals per therapeutic diets, ensuring serving temperature and visual appeal, and maintaining a clean kitchen. We value teamwork and comply with safety standards and vaccination policies.

Qualifications

• Prior culinary experience is required.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work with residents, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of dining service procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
• Leadership ability and ability to supervise staff.
• Patience, tact, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents and colleagues.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate resident meals in accordance with therapeutic diets ordered by physicians
• Ensure the proper serving temperature of food and maintain its visual appeal
• Monitor daily nourishments, follow standardized recipes, and adhere to sanitation and storage policies
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with residents, families, and colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services

Requirements

• Prior culinary experience required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with personnel, residents, and families
• Knowledge of dining service procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines
• Leadership ability, willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
