Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ invites applications for a full-time Foundations Lab/Clinical Nursing Faculty member at our Chandler/East Valley site. You will provide lab and clinical instruction for pre-licensure nursing students using innovative teaching methods and current technologies.

Requirements include a Master’s degree (MSN), 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience, and an active AZ or compact state RN license; teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required (MSN).
• 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
• Active, current and unencumbered RN license in Arizona or a compact state.
• Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Evidence of involvement in professional organizations, presentations, research or publications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content and teach in clinical and lab contexts.
• Collaborates with content area faculty to evaluate and document student progress toward objectives.
• Participates in grading written and clinical/lab performance check-offs.
• Maintains communication with program faculty and director and attends select meetings.
• Stays current with trends and developments in nursing practice.
• Maintains compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
• Upholds nursing as a holistic profession and university pillars; travel to clinical sites as needed.
