Job summary

Covista in Nashville seeks a Nurse Specialist to deliver NCLEX-RN remediation and support clinical learning labs and simulations. You will assess learning styles, tailor remediation plans, and tutor students individually or in groups to promote academic success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing required; Master's Degree in Education or Nursing preferred.
• 1+ year experience in an academic environment supporting classroom instruction or specialized tutoring support.
• Excellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate via telephone, computer, and in person.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must have excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Maintenance of a current, unencumbered RN license; BLS CPR required and instructor certification; ACLS and/or PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitation of simulation-based experiences (SBE) and labs including equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, set-up and clean-up.
• Demonstrates current, detailed knowledge of NCLEX concepts and nursing practice for academic support.
• Assists in creating Next Generation NCLEX activities/workshops.
• Maintains service excellence through friendly, professional communication and environment.
• Documents student progress toward outcomes for leadership review.
• Develops clinically based simulation scenarios using high-fidelity simulators.
• Coordinates and supervises labs to meet course objectives; supports open lab sessions.
• Provides individual or group tutoring and remediation of nursing skills.
• Performs outreach to at-risk students and supports program goals.
• Performs other duties and complies with all policies and standards.
