Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking an Education Specialist to lead nursing staff education, develop curricula, and ensure regulatory compliance across programs. You will collaborate with Education Supervisor and Nursing Administration to assess learning needs and plan in-services for continuous staff development.

The role requires active RN licensure in NJ, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications (and instructor where applicable), and teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Current NJ licensure as RN required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor certification required.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required.
• Certification in specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures orientation programs for new nursing staff meet regulatory requirements and are current with policy.
• Coordinates with Education Supervisor for staff transfer and educational planning.
• Plans in-services and programs based on assessed learning needs.
• Teaches classes using adult learning principles and e-learning; documents activities.
• Teaches continuing nursing education to expand staff knowledge.
• Develops curricula meeting ANCC standards; reviews programs regularly.
• Writes policies and procedures for the Department.
• Maintains educational records and reports; forwards items to HR.
• Supervises direct nursing care during training and evaluation of ORientees.
• Maintains patient safety education and hospital computer system usage.
• Participates in committees and supports customer service excellence.
