Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to provide programmatic leadership for education activities across the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania. The NPDS will design curricula, lead program delivery, and evaluate outcomes to ensure high-quality patient care and professional growth.

Part-time 20+ hours based on operational need, with an emphasis on orientation, competency management, and collaboration with nurses and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• 2–5 years of relevant clinical experience in Nursing Professional Development.
• Certification in NPDS or Ambulatory Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and prioritizes the clinical staff’s learning needs in relation to patient populations, new evidence, and organizational goals.
• Designs educational curricula framed by teaching theories and methods for validating competencies.
• Leads, teaches, and facilitates educational programs for diverse audiences; coordinates presenters and logistics.
• Evaluates program outcomes and recommends improvements; acts as a change agent to transform processes.
