UTMB Health invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction in the School of Nursing Undergraduate Studies at Galveston. Specialty areas include medical/surgical, community and population health, adult & family health, acute & critical care.

The role entails innovative classroom and online teaching, course design and evaluation, student advising, and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas.
• Defined program of scholarship as a preferred qualification.
• Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively use innovative, state-of-the-art teaching methodologies and learning activities for classroom and online instruction.
• Participate in course design, development, implementation, and evaluation for student learning experiences.
• Maintain academic excellence through continuing education and scholarship.
• Serve as academic advisor to students.
• Demonstrate leadership within a defined nursing practice area and collaborate across disciplines.
• Disseminate scholarly work in peer-reviewed venues and at professional meetings.
• Engage in nursing knowledge advancement and participate in department and university committees.
• Engage with local, state, and international nursing organizations.
