Job summary

Naples-Health-and-Reha is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead training for nursing staff in a skilled nursing facility. You will develop programs, conduct competency assessments, and coach RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to ensure high-quality patient care.

You will oversee infection prevention and HIPAA documentation, foster best practices with clinical teams, and drive ongoing education initiatives. This role requires strong teaching skills and decisive leadership.

Qualifications

• Current RN license is required.
• Strong background in patient care and nursing.
• Proficient in training & development.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation, and records.
• Experience in critical care, nursing homes, or hospitals.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and infection prevention practices.
• Ability to teach and develop staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff to enhance skills in patient care and infection prevention.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation.
• Conduct assessments of nursing practices and provide feedback for improvement.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote best practices in education and training.
• Monitor patient care standards and provide guidance on medical terminology and records management.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives with the DON.
• Conduct new hire orientations.
• Conduct competency skills tests and annual reviews for all clinical personnel.
• Infection surveillance, tracking and trending.
• Antibiotic stewardship.
• Provide skill training for new staff.
• Evaluate in-services training programs and develop new initiatives.
• Monitor all clinical certifications, licensure statuses, renewals.
