Job summary

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME, is seeking a Clinical Professional Development Practitioner in Nursing and Clinical Education. This full-time role focuses on creating evidence-based educational programs for nursing and allied staff, with a 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule.

Requires RN licensure, a bachelor’s degree, BLS, and 5+ years of related experience. Salary range $39.51–$61.04 per hour; exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with managers, directors, the VP- Nursing & Patient Care Services, VP -Chief Nursing Officer, Academic agencies, and other disciplines in onboarding and orientation for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Identifies and designs educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences.
• Integrates Evidence Based Practice (EBP), Research and Quality Improvement (QI) to improve practice by conducting and participating in EBP/Research and QI analyses.
• Collaborates with interprofessional partners to share experiences in planning and decision-making to achieve educational outcomes.
• Supports strategic planning within Clinical Professional Development by embracing change and guiding staff through implementation of change strategies.
• Demonstrates emotional intelligence in decision-making and fosters a culture of lifelong learning.
• Advances the profession by mentoring students, nurses, and other professionals.
• Assists in placement and orientation of students and clinical faculty.
• Provides input into department budget and manages resources responsibly.
