Job summary

Intersect Healthcare, Inc. in Michigan seeks a Director of Nursing to lead the nursing department and ensure delivery of high-quality resident care.

This role collaborates with facility administration, physicians, and other departments to coordinate care, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize resources. The DON will oversee staffing, education, infection control, QA activities, and budget adherence while upholding resident rights and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Michigan license as a Registered Nurse.
• Two years of professional nursing experience in the long-term care setting is required.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in nursing administration or a comparable management position.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of long-term care management, budgeting, personnel management, and census development.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper Policies, Procedures, and Protocols for care, including the nursing process and antibiotic use.
• Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures aligned with standards and regulations.
• Communicates policies to nursing staff and monitors implementation.
• Participates in admissions decisions and assesses residents’ health status.
• Leads management team meetings and oversees staffing to meet regulatory and budget standards.
• Supervises nursing staff performance, wage decisions, and disciplinary actions.
• Oversees infection control programs and QA activities; participates in plan of correction and inspections.
• Coordinates nursing services with Therapy and Pharmacy consultants and other departments.
