Job summary

The Director of Nursing Services (DON) at Cantex oversees all clinical operations within the Skilled Nursing Facility, providing strategic leadership to nursing staff and ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality resident care.

This exempt, full-time role requires strong background in SNF operations, survey readiness, staffing management, and a track record of clinical excellence, with 24/7 responsibility and collaboration with the Administrator.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience as a DON/ADON in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
• Experience with survey readiness, Plans of Correction (POCs), and quality improvement.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall clinical leadership to ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and strong clinical outcomes.
• Oversee, direct, and support nursing staff in the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
• Oversee the comprehensive care planning process and ensure interdisciplinary coordination.
• Uphold resident rights, including dignity, privacy, informed consent, and safety.
• Ensure timely communication with physicians, families, and responsible parties regarding significant changes in condition.
• Participate in pre-admission assessments and approve admissions in coordination with the Administrator.
